You’ve tried more sleep, less caffeine, and meditation—but what if your fatigue stems from something your body literally can’t create on its own?
It’s not really difficult to know when you’re getting adequate protein and fat. We have built-in sensors that tell us when we are done, right? And if you’re eating a diet of real food with meat and seasonal veggies, you might be coming close to an adequate supply of vitamins, because the food we eat has to make the vitamins. Minerals, on the other hand, can be challenging.
Minerals are actually elements of the periodic table, and they are only made with the assistance of nuclear reactions like fission and fusion, which take place over long periods of time.
Soil development is a process that takes hundreds of years. As a matter of fact, it takes 100 to 300 years for one centimeter of soil to properly develop! Unfortunately, the soil that our food is either growing on or grazing on is depleted of minerals. Modern farming and agricultural practices are the primary reasons why our soil is lacking minerals. Intensive farming and the use of chemical fertilizers have led to a significant depletion of soil nutrients.
It’s really important that we remineralize our drinking water (and of course our food). The best way to do this is with a high quality salt. I like Baja Gold Sea Salt the best because it has the least amount of sodium and chloride… that means there is a lot of room for dozens of other trace minerals like boron, potassium, magnesium and calcium!
Salt Type (Brand) | Sodium Content | Sodium Chloride Content |
---|---|---|
Baja Gold Mineral Sea Salt | 29.5% – 31.5% | 75.0% – 80.0% |
Grey Sea Salt (Celtic) | 33.5% – 35.5% | 85.0% – 90.0% |
Ancient Earth Salt (Pink Himalayan, Redmond) | 36.5% – 38.5% | 92.5% – 97.5% |
Refined Sea Salt (True Salt) | 38.0% – 38.5% | 97.0% – 98.0% |
Refined Table Salt (Morton) | 38.5% – 39.0% | 98.0% – 99.0% |
After adding a pinch of Baja Gold Salt to your water, add a few drops of Trace Minerals Iodine, which contains iodine (we’re all iodine deficient, unfortunately) as well as magnesium, chloride, lithium and boron. Do this with all your water… and if your water tastes salty, you overdid it! These minerals will definitely give your water some “body”, but it should never taste salty.
